Conscious grief: Miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth, neonatal loss.
3 critical steps to ease the pain, calm the fears and patch-up pieces after losing your pregnancy.
- voice your pain
- free of judgement
- confidential, safe, absolute respect
So many emotions to deal with and no one to turn to? You are not alone, and you don’t have to do this alone.
Guilt. Pain. Anger. Resentment. Anguish. Fear. Sadness. Despair. Hopelessness. Isolation.
As #1in4women lose a pregnancy, over 400 babies are stillborn in Queensland (Australia) each year; that is 400 families going home with an empty cot and a broken heart. Thousands of us battle with abortion decisions with little to no support to turn to.
We are expected to get on with life: “She’ll be right after a while.” “You can have another one.” “At least you have [something else] in your life you can focus on.” “At least you know you can get pregnant.”
Have you personally been told something along these lines? I know I have, and I wondered: “WTF, how can you say this to me, you have no idea?!”
Nothing can replace the child who no longer is. How can we deal with the void, the absence, the hurt?
Until I realised,
Our only options are to learn how to deal with the reality, try various coping mechanisms and establish a supportive environment for ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t like the other alternative, which was to remain stuck in the inferno.. So I researched, and experimented, and tried, and tested. Over time I started working as a coach with many women facing the same heartbreaks.
And this is what I’ve found.
There are 3 critical steps to successfully navigating a grief journey. No two people are alike, and we all grieve differently. But there are three constants and I will be sharing them with you in this workshop.
Facilitated by Nathalie BelleLarant Naturally
Supported by Dr Olivia Lesslar
Made possible with the help of ACPharm QLD.
This workshop is for you if:
– you are finding yourself in a place of stuck, sometimes overwhelmed with emotions, feeling alone, unequipped, unsupported
– you are wondering if what is happening to you is ‘normal’ and whether it is ever going to change
– you are wondering how you can find a way to manage Life going forward
– you are wishing there was someone understanding you could speak to in confidence, someone who would not judge, but accept, not blame, but support, not tell you how you are supposed to feel, but help you uncover how you can be capable of dealing with the days ahead
What we will do:
We will establish a beautiful, safe, respectful and confidential space together with other women, a circle free of judgement and filled with loving kindness, compassion and mutual support.
We will explore different ways for you to cope and will practice soothing meditations so you can begin to shift your personal journey towards comfort, hope and reassurance.
You will have the ability to actively participate and share within the circle, should you wish to do so, or simply listen to what is being released.
My goal is for you to leave with a sense of peace with what has happened to you, what is happening within in you and what is happening around you, so you can feel more confident dealing with yourself and others during this time of grief.
